Meet the face
behind the posts
My name is Shelby Kapp, and I am a senior at Rutgers University majoring in Communication with a minor in Digital Communication Information and Media. I am originally from Chicago, Illinois, but currently reside and attend school in New Jersey. After I graduate from Rutgers, I will be pursuing a master’s degree in elementary education. From the time I was in elementary school, I always loved learning and the school environment. I loved learning new information, meeting new peers, and creating connections with my teachers which all led me to follow a career in education.
My education provided me with opportunities I never thought imaginable and helped me discover my true identity as a student. As a child, I found school to be my safe place and had the pleasure of being taught by some incredible educators who inspired me to follow my passion for teaching. I have experienced first-hand how one teacher can forever change a student's life and I aspire to do the same for my future students.
I decided to create a blog about education technology because it was a perfect way to blend both subject areas I am passionate about: digital technology and education. I believe that this blog encompasses all I have learned throughout my DCIM minor courses as well as the information I have gained thus far in my education journey. Education technology is a rapidly growing topic of discussion in our digital age, and I hope to share my experiences, research, and passion with others through this platform!
